Tori eats her greens

The weather had been a little gloomy for the past few days. Finally, after a big storm last night, we woke up to a beautiful sunny day. Joey and I decided to take Tori out to explore the grass.

She was a little cautious at first.

She would touch it gently with her hand then look up at me for reassurance.

Then she slid down onto her tummy to get a closer look.

When Joey saw her on her tummy he jumped up and said, "look mom, I can make a T with Tori."

A few minutes later she was inspecting the blades of grass with her mouth. She looked like Einie (the Cobbs' tortoise), grazing on the lawn.

Honestly, we have no idea what Joey is doing here. Maybe it's tai-chi.

I absolutely LOVE this...thanks for sharing. Joey is definitely a 'kinesthetic' kid! I love to see Tori exploring her world.

She is so cute...I love that she'll just explore. By the way, I can't believe how big Joey is!!!! He was the Kewish "baby" when we met and now he's all grown-up.

of course that is tai chi! i remember seeing them do it at the park in china! tori is darling! so she seemed okay with the grass, even very interested. did you ever have babies that didn't like the feel? i had some that couldn't stand it when you put them down on it...what is that anyway? BTW...how is that passing off of the ward fiesta to someone else this week? :)

None of our kids have disliked the grass too much--certainly not as much as some of yours who, as I remember it, would absolutely NOT touch the grass at any cost. Remember T-man when he was Tori's age. When his bare feet touched the grass his legs would almost shoot up inside of his body like the eye stalks of a snail.

And as for the "fiesta"--what do you think Liz is doing? Doing it all herself of course! Also, along with spending tons of time on Primary and still doing the bulletin for Sunday, that she hasn't yet received the speakers for, so she's a little frustrated. Finally, the bishop emailed her and said that the people who were supposed to speak had their elderly mother pass away and had to go out of town for the funeral so they were scrambling to find a speaker. So I said to Liz--why don't you volunteer? She didn't think it was very funny.

well, if liz won't turn over the fiesta, which i knew she wouldn't, even as i was 'counseling' her to...at least that job should be over by sunday. it will feel good by then. then, she needs to make someone else feel the pain a little bit...tell the PP she can't make any meetings yet or don't have a bulletin one sunday--once someone else feels the pain, things may change. anyway, good luck. and yes, you remember tainui well with the feet on the grass, or lack thereof. can't wait for all the kids to 'run' together soon. we love and miss you all!

tainui says that he can't believe how much joey looks like andre kirilenko (sp?)....what do you think?
