Most afternoons when the weather is good the boys play outside in the backyard. Once in a while Liz will let them get the sidewalk chalk out and draw on the basketball court. On Friday Charles spent more time out there than usual and seemed to be very involved in what he was doing. After a while, he came up to the porch with his clothes covered in chalk dust, beaming, and said, "Daddy, come look what I made!" I walked out to find the entire alphabet written on the basketball court. Charles proudly said, "I did them in block letters." Here are some pics--you may need to click on them for the larger version to see the artwork.
The proud artist and his fearless assitant.
Charles posing with his masterpiece. He also said "I drew a hopscotch too. Can you jump it?" I politely declined. By the way, we've never discussed hopscotch before (they are boys, after all). From what we know, he saw it once on Little Bear (Warning before you click, Little Bear can be a brat, and the show makes me want to poke my eyes out).
Another shot of the boys on their canvas.
Tori enjoying the sunshine. She is a very happy baby lately, but especially when she gets to go outside.
One more of Tori on the deck. You can even see the little artists hard at work in the background.

Very impressive, Charles is so smart! But of course you guys already knew that.
I hate Little Bear. It's SO annoying.
I love the art--maybe Grandpa and I can give tours. :) Hey...we even know the artists personally.
Those boys are resourceful.
And, Tori is SO cute--I can see that wonderful blond hair on the large version. Can't wait to see them.
Too bad I don't live closer, you could get schooled in some basketball. jk Tori is really cute I can't wait to meet her! That's awesome chalk-sidewalk-artwork whatever you want to call it. Check this out, this guy is insane! I don't know how he does it... http://gprime.net/images/sidewalkchalkguy/
So talented! I love your big backyard...ours is still a jungle of weeds, rocks, stumps, vines...I could go on.
Hi Joe! I was trying to find out which Kewish blog was yours - I pulled up a couple before this one but didn't have to go any further when I saw a picture of your oldest son - a spittin image! I'm loving browsing all of your blogs - such a wonderful family! (Tracy Meunier/Schultz)
So nice when kids like to be outside!! Charles and Joey great job on the alphabet and hopscotch is for everyone Joe so give it a try what will it hurt to jump in a few boxes drawn on the cement. Maybe you could shoot while jumping to make it seem tough:)
