Summer Time

Yes, we're still alive. So much has happened over the past few months that it becomes hard to decide what to blog about. We'll try to catch up on all the things that have been going on over the next few weeks, but for now we'll just have to post a bunch of pictures of how we've been spending our summer:

Drove from Indiana to Utah, chasing rainbows across the Great Plains.

Stopped at Winter Quarters to see the temple:

and the Mormon Trail Center:

Had a Kewish family reunion in San Diego, where we hung out at the beach--Charles, giving his ubiquitous 'thumbs up.'

and inspiring his cousin Tui to do the same:

Joey hanging out with Tama, probably discussing something about superheroes:

And lounging in the surf:

Dinner and talent show at the church, with a special cake for Mom and Dad's 45th anniversary:

And the kids crashed out and unceremoniously dumped on the foyer sofa:

Lots of fun time in Utah, including a visit to Thanksgiving Point, where apparently they pulled on something:
Went on a pony ride:

And where Joey (friend of the animals), made special friends with this foal:

But not necessarily with this cow (at least not his shirt):

Went to the Oquirrh Mountain temple open house:

Killed various parts of grandpa's lawn with the slip and slide:

Did things at grandma and grandpa Kewish's house that we don't normally do:
Got to see lots of cute baby Jonathan (or 'baby Dolphin' as Tori called him):
Hiked the Y with the Wihongi cousins and Uncle Jon:
Went to BYU Soccer Camp:

Hung out at BYU:
And took a bunch of pictures in a Provo orchard:

We made a pass through Reno to visit grandma and grandpa Martineau, and Uncle James:
Went to church with them in the Sierra Nevada foothills (the sun was too bright for Tori):

Tori with her dolly and their matching outfits:

And a trip to Scheel's in Sparks to see the animals:

and ride the ferris wheel:

Tori was always ready for a quick pose, usually with her tongue out:

Finished up 5 weeks of vacation with the 4th of July parade in Provo, where Tori was playing it cool:

Charles was being tough after getting his head split open (there's the thumbs up again):

He was really laying it on thick. I guess he knows girls like the dangerous ones:

And finally sending grandpa and grandma Kewish off on their mission to Hong Kong.

Yes, we were definitely busy.

It was great to have you guys here. Especially to have the kids here to get to know them better. Tori is a doll. I always loved her "Baby Dolphin!" Charles is a tough smart little boy. And Joey is a soccer maniac. He repeatedly tried to persuade me into kicking the ball around. We miss having you guys around.
