I was in Las Vegas last week and picked up some candy filled with bugs for the kids. I didn't think they would eat them, but after some initial hesitance, the sweet coating proved too much to resist. Even Tori got in on the action. She is terrified of bugs, but loves candy more than life iteself. When she first noticed the bugs in the candy, she rightly freaked out, but eventually came around. They didn't lick them long enough to get to the middle, so there was no actual bug eating just yet. Perhaps if they get there we'll have to do a follow up post. Here are some pictures.

Once over her fear, Tori stood there dutifully, tongue outstretched, repeating "more licks please!"

I hope your Employer Assistance Plan provides for therapy for your kids. :-) This may backfire on you when they are teenagers and want pet tarantulas and other nasty things.
i thought that Tori was terrified of bugs from a traumatic experience. what was it again, and who did it? i just can't seem to remember...
I have no idea what you're talking about Holly. Actually, it was fascinating to watch her intense fear of bugs battle with her intense love of candy. Ultimately the candy won out, which I'm not sure is a good thing.
Rob: If my dad has anything to do about it, they will get those things. He actually gave me and Liz a live tarantula one Christmas as a 'gift.'
I am so sorry but the sugar coating just is not enough to get me to eat a bug:)
yes...I can definitely see conflict with the candy AND the insects. Now, if Dad sees this post he will know he doesn't have to go to a foreign country to get these things.

Andrew loves bug candy... He really liked the scorpion lollipop Elliott brought him home the other day, and also likes chocolate covered bugs. Uhg. So gross!
